Board and Train Programs
Looking for a training program that will cover all of your dog’s needs and your concerns? Then STK9 Training Company’s Board and Train Programs are what you are looking for! At STK9 Training Company our dog-training programs utilize a solid foundation in obedience, which is key in both preventing and managing unwanted behaviors. Obedience training strengthens the canine-human bond by providing a clear method of communication between owner and pet. Our Board and Train Programs also cover any behavior concerns. If your dog is showing aggression towards people, or if they need to gain more confidence, we have you covered. Training takes place 7 days a week for our Board and Train Students, and we are selective about how many students we enroll at once. Once our training is perfected at our facility, we then proof our students training out in public settings. We know our students are missed tremendously while away from home. Our trainers give updates at least twice a week, and our clients are able to ask for an update whenever! Upon graduating, our clients receive an obedience video of their dog, personalized homework, obedience handouts, and any training tools implemented in the program.
We offer two Board and Train Programs: On-Leash Obedience with Behavior Modification and Advanced Off-Leash Obedience with Behavior Modification.
Basic On-Leash Obedience with Behavior Modification:
Upon graduation of our On-Leash Obedience program, your dog will be able to complete the following behaviors reliably on-leash:
- Sit/ Stay
- Down/ Stay
- Heel
- Place
- Come When Called
- Out
- Off
We estimate that this program takes about three weeks. A training collar and 6 foot leash are included in this program.
Advanced Off-Leash Obedience with Behavior Modification:
Upon graduation of our Advanced Off- Leash Obedience program, your dog will be able to perform the following behaviors reliably off-leash:
- Sit/Stay
- Down/Stay
- Heel
- Place
- Come When Called
- Out
- Off
We estimate that this program takes about one to one and a half weeks. A training collar is included in this program. Please note that students must graduated from our On- Leash Obedience Program before enrolling in our Advance Off- Leash Obedience Program.

Why Board and Train?
All of STK9 Training Company’s Board and Train dog training programs are done at the Pasadena Pet Motel. The use of this facility is very beneficial for the dogs as it allows us to expose them to many different environments, people and dogs. Boarding your dog while training produces the best product because it allows us to carefully plan and control every aspect of your dog’s day. We are able to introduce variables at our pace and can ensure that everything that your dog encounters has a positive effect on his/her dog training program. Using a board and train facility allows us to modify your dog’s behavior in a slow and safe manner.
Many behavior problems are rooted in a lack of socialization and/or exercise. Our Board and Train dogs are able to take advantage of the Pasadena Pet Motel’s Doggie Day Care Program. This allows your dog to develop play skills, socialize and burn their extra energy. We have found that dogs that are allowed some time “off” to play with their own kind are happier and more eager to learn.
